Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your TileBuys order
How do I calculate how much tile I need for my project?
We recommend measuring your total square footage and adding a 10-15% 'overage' to account for cuts, waste, and future repairs. For herringbone or diagonal patterns, consider adding 20%.
Do you offer samples before I commit to a full order?
Yes, we highly recommend ordering samples. Since tile is a natural product and screen resolutions vary, samples allow you to see the true color, texture, and finish in your home's lighting.
What is your shipping policy for heavy tile pallets?
Most large orders are shipped via LTL freight on pallets to ensure safety. Delivery is typically curbside, meaning the driver will drop the pallet at the end of your driveway or at the curb using a liftgate.
What should I do if my tile arrives damaged?
Please inspect your delivery immediately. If you notice any breakage, note it on the Proof of Delivery (POD) form provided by the driver and take photos. Contact our support team within 48 hours to initiate a replacement claim.
Can I return unused boxes of tile?
Yes, we accept returns on unopened, full boxes within 30 days of delivery. Please note that customers are responsible for return shipping costs and a restocking fee may apply to cover warehouse handling.
Are your tiles rated for outdoor use or wet areas?
Product suitability varies by material. Each product page lists specific ratings for 'PEI' (durability) and 'DCOF' (slip resistance). Always check if a tile is rated for 'Submerged' use for pools or 'Frost Resistant' for outdoor patios.
